Eight schools in Tibanifontein, near Polokwane in Limpopo, will be the lucky winners of the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition.
The schools will each receive a Cashbuild building material voucher to the value of R15 000 at the opening ceremony of the new Cashbuild Tibanifontein store on the 30th of August 2018. General school maintenance and completion of unfinished buildings are the main priorities for spending the vouchers by the winning schools.
Tau-Kwena Primary School and Semorishi Primary School are two of the eight schools that will each receive a Cashbuild building material voucher to the value of R15 000.
Mr Ratlou, the principal of Tau-Kwena Primary School, says: “Thank you Cashbuild, we have been trying to complete our library on the premises for a long time and with this wonderful donation we are going to purchase material and items that will assist us in finishing off this project and which the children have been so excited about.”
The principal from Semorishi Primary School, Mr Setati, was so happy when he was given the news. “We are going to paint the school inside and out, especially the classrooms, and hopefully there will be enough to paint the roof too. We are in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. Thank you to Cashbuild for making this possible.”
At the opening ceremony of the new Cashbuild Tibanifontein store on the 30th of August 2018, when the building material vouchers totaling R120 000 will be handed out to the eight winning schools, the children will entertain everyone with singing, cultural dances and theatrical performances.
The Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition entails learners from each school to submit their best artwork to Cashbuild. This artwork is displayed at the ceremony, and remains on display in the Cashbuild store for the next six years.
Artwork will be judged and three winners from each school will be named. Winners will receive Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates for first, second and third place respectively. The Manager’s Choice award will also be presented to the overall winner of the artwork competition. This award will be announced on the day and the winning learner will receive a stationery pack and a glass trophy. The winner is also given the honour of officially opening the refurbished store.
The schools that will benefit from the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart donations are:
TAU-KWENA PRIMARY SCHOOL
CHLOE PRIMARY SCHOOL
SEMORISHI PRIMARY SCHOOL
PROSPECT PRIMARY SCHOOL
TIBANEFONTEIN PRIMARY SCHOOL
MOETAGARE PRIMARY SCHOOL
MMAPHEKGO PRIMARY SCHOOL

Cashbuild is BEE compliant and every time a store is opened, relocated or refurbished, Cashbuild not only makes donations to local schools, but also creates jobs for community members.
The Art-at-Heart competition is a southern African Cashbuild initiative whereby donations are made to some of the region’s most needy schools.
